Always on the lookout for more Canadian reads and Canadian contemporary YA, I could not wait to dive into Moore’s utterly unusual and terrific-sounding young adult debut.Īnd readers, it did not disappoint whatsoever. While I had not yet read her adult fiction, I was immediately intrigued when I first read the description of Flannery. It is a novel whose spell no reader will be able to resist.Ĭanadian author Lisa Moore is a critically-acclaimed writer with adult fiction work long listed for the Man Booker Prize ( February) and Scotia Bank Giller Prize ( Open and Alligator).
